CHELMSFORD held on to fourth place and a play-off semi-final at Welling United, courtesy of top scorer Rhys Murphy.
Both sides struggled to create chances but the uncompromising visitors always looked the more likely to score. Murphy set his sights as early as the ninth minute when his measured shot from 25 yards went narrowly wide.
The all-important goal came seven minutes later when Murphy latched onto a ball into the box by skipper Max Porter before firing a shot across Will Puddy.
