NORTH LEIGH dubbed their end-of-season run-in as the ‘great escape’ and their fans were singing the famous tune long into the night.
The Windmill Army appeared to the flailing until the finish line of the campaign came into sight.
But two wins and three draws were enough to bank the nine points they needed to escape the drop.
Champions Peterborough Sports got a guard of honour before the game but the respect stopped there.
