IN atrocious conditions, Clitheroe succumbed to a very lively 1874 side and kissed goodbye to an FA Cup run at the first hurdle.
The first half was all Northwich with the visitors taking the lead from a short free-kick which saw Matthew Woolley fire home unchallenged.
The home side’s sole chance fell to Charlie Mulgrew whose tame sidefooted shot from a Cole Lonsdale cross had to be much better.
As injury time loomed 1874’s Scott McGowan missed an open goal from a cross.
