IN 286 days’ time, two teams will walk out at Wembley for the 139th FA Cup final.
Before then, 736 clubs from across the top ten tiers of En English football will have tasted defeat over 12 rounds.
The sheer size of the tournament alone is one of the reasons, among the giant killings and drama, that the FA Cup is regarded as the greatest cup competition in the world.
The first batch of ties took place this weekend – 184 in the Extra Preliminary round – for the Non-League dreamers at Step 5 and 6, plus a handful of Step 4 clubs.
