GRAYS ATHLETIC signalled their intent for the new campaign with a thumping 4-1 win over tenman Brentwood Town.
Both squads had been largely rebuilt during the off-season and two goals in the opening three minutes set the tone. The Blues were the first to strike when Jacob Wiggins latched on to a defence-splitting pass and beat Danny Sambridge.
But Grays were back on level terms barely a minute later when Tony Stokes coolly slotted home from the penalty spot after Timothy Ogunrinde was upended in the box.
