MORPETH Town’s patience paid off as they scored decisive goals in the 75th and 82nd minute to seal victory over Buxton.
Joe Walton was the inspiration, stepping off the bench to scramble home his first before a spot-kick ensured all three points for the Highwaymen.
Their third win in succession was a hardfought one as both sides showed solidity without a spectacular attacking edge. Although the first half was not one for the purists, Morpeth’s Sean Reid came closest to scoring with a thumping header which hit the underside of the bar.
