LEGEND is a word used all too often these days but for those who’ve plied their trade in the north-eastern corner of Hampshire and neighbouring counties for the last 50 years, Charles Mortimore MBE will forever be regarded as one.
A rarity in enjoying hero status at rival clubs Aldershot, Woking and Farnborough, he passed away at a Farnborough nursing home this week after a long illness at the age of 91.
