BOWERS & Pitsea came from behind to put themselves in the Third Qualifying Round for the first time in their history.
Lewes edged the first half, with decent chances for Kayne Diedrick-Roberts, James Hammond and Tom Day either going narrowly wide or well saved by Bowers keeper Callum Chafer.
It was the home side who went ahead in the 53rd minute, when a clear handball gave the referee no choice but to point at the penalty spot. Chafer got a hand to Diedrick-Roberts’ low penalty, but it wasn’t enough to keep it out.
