BOSTON will carry an unbeaten home start into October for the first time since 2005 after seeing off the challenge of Southport.
They started brightest as Jay Rollins hit the crossbar on seven minutes before Jordan Thewlis saw a driven effort swatted aside by Charlie Albinson. Dominic Knowles then missed a tap-in.
The Pilgrims deservedly made their breakthrough three minutes before halftime when Brad Abbott regained possession and sent Knowles through on goal before latching onto the forward’s cross to finish expertly from 12 yards.
