BATH CITY moved up to eighth in the National League South following a 1-0 win against St Albans City at Clarence Park.
A slow first half burst into life just before the half hour mark when Sam Pearson did well to work the ball down the right and eventually crossed for Tom Smith to volley home past Dean Snedker from eight yards out.
The away side should have doubled their lead less than 90 seconds later but Smith failed to hit the target from the edge of the box when in acres of space.
