AGOAL 12 minutes into the second half from Dan Maguire settled a tight match and extended York City’s lead at the top of National League North.
Both sides knew the importance of the fixture, and at times the tension led to some negative play that didn’t produce a great deal of goalmouth action in the early exchanges.
A delighted York boss Steve Watson reflected: “This was the hardest we’ve had to work all season, it was real graft, but there are loads of ways to win a game and we found it today. It was a tight game from two top teams.
