EAST Thurrock United survived a late scare to progress in the FA Trophy as they defeated Cheshunt 2-1.
The Rocks got off to a dream start as they took the lead inside two minutes.
Alex Clark skipped through the Cheshunt defence before squeezing the ball home past Harry Girling at the near post.
It was 2-0 within 10 minutes as Mitchell Gilbey robbed Ambers’ skipper Mark Hughes, rounded Girling and squared for Frankie Merrifield who had the simple task of rolling home from close range.
