GATESHEAD got the new decade off to a winning start against a Hereford side that offered little.
The Bulls ended a 15-game winless run on New Year’s Day but managed just two efforts at goal. Both were in a drab first half and neither on target, Gateshead scoring in each half to claim victory.
After a shared six-goal, four-penalty thriller to start 2020 at Blyth Spartans this was a much more prosaic affair for the hosts.
The Heed had by far the better of the second half and after Elliot Forbes’ opener, they sealed it late on.
