SPORTING KHALSA needed a brace of goals in extra time to claim the scalp of Vase visitors Kirkley and Pakefield in a hard-fought encounter.
The first half ended goalless with both sides squandering chances the pick of which fell to Khalsa’s Gaz Singh who rounded the Kirkley keeper only to scuff his shot wide of the target.
The hosts kept the pressure on in the second half but a flurry of superb saves from Jordan Smith kept the MFL Premier Division side at bay.
