WORCESTER City is to ask the Football Stadia Improvement Fund for grant aid in a bid to return home next season.
The Midland League Premier Division outfit has an agreement in principle to move to the Worcestershire FA’s Claines Lane ground, but needs to find extra cash in order to bring it up to Step 5 and above standard.
The county FA have been given access to loans of up to £750,000 by Worcester City Council to complete the current redevelopment work, which includes a new 3G pitch, floodlights, changing rooms and offices, by the end of September.
