MARGATE withstood a second-half Haringey rally after a three-goal blitz in 17 first-half minutes looked to have put them in control.
Elliott Reeves was a lively early presence for the hosts and came close twice before Gate skipper Ben Swift volleyed home a Kieran Monlouis cross on 22 minutes.
Swift nearly scored again two minutes later when he fired over the bar.
But Gate were twoup four minutes later, when Kadell Daniel converted Adem Ramadan’s through ball.
Anthony McDonald briefly threatened for Haringey with a shot across goal on 32 minutes.
