A POACHER’S finish from substitute Ruairi Keating proved enough to give Gateshead all three points in a woeful match at Tameside Stadium.
A first half starved of quality saw Curzon Ashton, now with only one win in their last eight games, have two half-shouts for a penalty kick.
The first saw Owen Watkinson brought down just inside the area by Mike Williamson, but the on-loan Blackpool man was judged to have dived and was subsequently booked. The second, a potential handball from Gateshead’s Dominic Tear, was also ignored by the referee.
