JAKE Thompson’s goal moved Brightlingsea off the bottom of the table in a game which showed why both sides are struggling.
Regent came with a game plan and carried it out assuredly, while the defeat continued the Rooks’ abject home form and left them just two points above yesterday’s winners. A poor game was decided by a setpiece on the cusp of half-time, as Brightlingsea looped a corner to the far post and the tallest player on the pitch, centre-back Thompson, headed home.
