IT was wonderful to see the sadly defunct Bridlington Trinity receive a mention in the review of the FA Trophy in the 1980s (NLP, Feb 23) in connection with the club’s ultimately losing marathon with Netherfield (Trinity had won at Netherfield in the FA Cup earlier in the season).
The tie made national news. Trinity had an excellent side at that time and had finished runners- up on goal difference to Belper Town in the Midland Counties League Premier Division in 1979/80.
