CHELMSFORD City chairman Steve Shore said he had no qualms whatsoever about handing the manager’s job permanently to Robbie Simpson following a successful spell in caretaker charge.
Simpson, 34, who joined the Clarets as a player in August 2019, stepped into the breach after the sacking of Rod Stringer in January.
And the former Coventry City, Cambridge United, Oldham Athletic and Huddersfield Town player proved an instant hit at the Melbourne Stadium, manitaining the Clarets’ play-off push in National League South.
