WOUTER Verstraaten says he is more determined than ever to be a success at South Shields - even turning down a chance to join north-east giants Sunderland!
The Dutchman, 24, was a promising young player at PSV Eindhoven but after spells with them and Portland Timbers, he found himself plying his trade in the Step 5 Northern League for Consett while studying at Durham University.
