DAVID Morrell has quit as chairman of the Northern Counties East League due to ill-health.
The former Premier League assistant referee informed officials on Wednesday that he would not be seeking re-election at the next annual general meeting.
Morrell joined the league’s management board in 2001 following his retirement as a match official and had also served as fixtures and referees secretary.
