A MATCH that was living up to its pre-match billing was brought to an abrupt end by a cloud-burst of near biblical proportions just as the managers were preparing their half-time team-talks.
Match referee Lee Hartley had little option but to call a halt to proceedings as the depth of the standing water made conditions too dangerous to continue.
The home side had earlier paid the price for some sloppy defending as George Sykes squeezed the ball under Sam Roach in the home goal and Freddie Gard slammed home a second.
