JAKE Howells had a 500th career appearance to remember last Saturday.
The Hemel Hempstead Town captain played the closing stages at Tonbridge Angels in goal after Dean Snedker suffered a facial injury and the Tudors had used all three substitutes.
Although known as a versatile player, the 29-year-old didn’t expect to ever don the gloves.
“I won’t even go in goal when my nine-year-old son is having a kickaround with me,” he laughed. “It’s scary, I fully appreciate what they do now.
