ENFIELD TOWN chairman Paul Reed believes accepting defeat and null-and-voiding the season at Step 3-7 will help safeguard the long-term future of clubs.
The Towners were third in Isthmian Premier when the season ground to a halt in late October, while a number of players have kept involved by moving on loan to Step 2.
With no restart expected until at least early March, and over three quarters of the season still left to play, a massive 94 per cent of members backed the board’s recommendation to null-and-void at the club’s EGM on Thursday.
