HANLEY Town are looking for a new manager after “reluctantly” accepting the resignation of Micky Morton.
Morton took over as manager in January 2019 and led them to sixth in the North West Counties Premier Division and their best-ever run in the FA Cup, reaching the second qualifying round this season before bowing out at Ilkeston Town.
A statement from the Potteries club said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to Micky for years of dedication to the club as player and manager. He will always be welcome back.”
Chairman Ron McIlreavy said he intends to restructure the club with a full-time manager to oversee all football operations.
The club wants to hear from anyone who has managed at Step 4 and above in the past three seasons, or who has played at Step 3 and above. The deadline for applications is March 21.
