SOUTHERN Counties East Premier outfit Welling Town have moved in with Kent Football United for next season.
Formed in 2014 by current chairman Kevin Oakes and a group of friends as a Sunday club, they entered Saturday football two years later and began climbing the pyramid from the Kent Country League’s Division Three West.
Their previous home was Sporting Club Thamesmead’s Bayliss Avenue ground.
A statement from Dartford-based Division One Kent Football United said: “We would like to welcome Kevin and Welling Town to the football club. The SCEFL Premier Club will be ground sharing at The Efes Stadium for the 2021- 22 season.
“We look forward to building a positive working relationship between the two clubs.”
County League side Metrogas will play at Bayliss Avenue next season.
● GLEN Nichols has stood aside as manager of Chessington & Hook United after 18 months in charge.
But he will remain with the Southern Counties East Division One newboys – moved sideways from the Combined Counties League – and continue his involvement with the youth set-up at Chalky Lane.
