I HAVE been startled by the recent footage of Sutton United brutally butchering their 3G artificial pitch with a chainsaw.
In the words of the famous Orange Juice song, it is a dramatic case of “Rip it up and start again.”
As we all know, National League champions Sutton have to replace the 3G with a grass playing surface in order to complete their promotion to League Two. Harrogate Town had to adhere to the same process last year.
