BISHOP’S Stortford have sealed the permanent return of top loanee Archie Jones.
Midfielder Jones enjoyed a spell with the Isthmian Premier Blues last season, making 12 appearances and playing a key part in the Blues’ unbeaten league campaign and FA Cup and FA Trophy runs.
Jones, 19, came through the Peterborough Academy, playing just the one first-team match.
Blues boss Steve Smith is delighted to get the Jones deal over the line but admits there’s a lot of ugly work left to do before the season’s start.
“I hate pre-season, hate it,” he told the club’s website. “But, it’s all about getting people fit so we can start on the 17th of August. It’s good to get results in friendlies as it builds momentum but they’re not the be-all-and-end-all.”
