The 32-year-old wide man joined in December 2019 and impressed in his first stint at Marsh Lane.

Now, though, after both that season and the last campaign was curtailed due to the Covid pandemic, Potter has signed an extension to his contract and is eyeing a first full season with the Hoops.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done,” he said. “I really enjoyed my time here last season and I feel like I have unfinished business with how the season finished.

“This year it will be good to get a full pre-season under my belt, get fitter and hopefully try and achieve something next season.”

Potter boasts an impressive career CV having represented city neighbours Oxford United along with the likes of Peterborough United, AFC Wimbledon, Northampton Town and Mansfield Town.

City have also agreed new terms with goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski.

The former man enjoyed an impressive first campaign with the South side last season.

He said: “Last season was great in terms of the set-up and the characters about the place.”
