READING goalkeeper James Holden has returned to Maidenhead United after impressing on loan at the end of last season.
The 19-year-old, signed to cover injuries to Taye Ashby-Hammond and Rhys Lovett, played the final five matches of the 2020-21 campaign for Alan Devonshire’s side and kept a clean sheet against Yeovil Town.
“I wanted to come back,” said Holden, who arrives on a season-long loan deal from the Championship Royals.
“I hope to keep more clean sheets and keep the ball out of the net more than I did in the last five games, which were all tough. I want to be solid, someone you can trust and not have to worry about.”
