■ A GRITTY performance from Corby saw them topple higher-ranked Hendon by a single goal.
Corby almost scored early on when a free-kick fell to Stephen Diggin but his effort hit the bar. The hosts did create another chance but Joe Curtis’s shot was high over the bar from close range.
Early in the second half, a snap shot by Diggin drifted agonisingly wide of the post.
However, just past the hour mark Niall Towle spectacularly flicked the ball home from close range.
