THE Rutland Cup is one of the smallest competitions in the country with the aim of raising money for a local charity.
After an absence of over 20 years it was played again in the summer of 2021.
The idea is that the four highest-ranked teams in Rutland compete. Unfortunately one team had to withdraw but a team from outside the county stepped up.
The top teams in Rutland play at Step 7 of the Non-League pyramid so are on an equal footing.
This year, Oakham United won the Rutland Cup by beating Uppingham Town 3-2 in the semi-final and Cottesmore AFC 2-1 in the final.
