PORTHLEVEN QUIT

PORTHLEVEN has quit the South West Peninsula League’s Premier West Division with immediate effect.
The Cornish club, who are celebrating their 125th anniversary, were fifth from bottom having won only once in seven games.
The announcement came after manager Graham Blake stepped down, saying he will continue to work with the youth set-up.
League secretary Phil Hiscox said: “It is a very sad day for all football followers in the South West and our thoughts are with the current and past stalwarts that maintained NLS football over so many years at Gala Parc.”
