BIRTLEY Town eased into the next round with a comfortable victory in the North East, as Knaresborough ended the game with just nine men.
Kaleb Young scored a first-half brace with Joe Barwick and Jack Honour also on target as Mark Simpson netted a consolation goal on a forgettable afternoon for the visitors.
Ricky Tanoh hit the crossbar in the 26th minute after collecting Young’s through ball for the Tyneside hosts.
At the other end, Mark Simpson forced a good save from Isaac Robinson in the 38th minute.
