■ NEW signing Shermandin Artmeladze inspired Romford to their first home League win of the season.
Artmeladze nipped in between a defender and the goalkeeper to lift the ball into the net after 29 minutes and give Boro a half time lead.
Then, on the hour, his persistence enabled Christian Adu Gyamfi to run on and finish confidently for the second.
The visitors were without some of their key forwards, and it showed.
The pressure they put on the home defence did not result in chances that unduly troubled Boro keeper Carlos Simeon.
