MARGATE got back to winning ways, rather more convincingly than the final scoreline suggests.
They made matters hard for themselves by missing a number of chances and finding Regent Luke Avenell on fine form when they did hit the target.
But Regent rarely threatened a Gate defence well-marshalled by Ben Swift.
They had a dream start after four minutes when Swift played a long ball to Ryan Palmer who advanced into the area and found Dan Thompson who stroked it home.
