FORMER Jamaica international Frank Sinclair has taken over as player-manager of Blue Square Bet North strugglers Colwyn Bay.
The Seagulls parted company with Lee Williams last week following a run of five straight defeats.
They were beaten again on Saturday – 2-1 at home toBishop’s Stortford – and currently occupy the final relegation place in the Conference North.
Sinclair, who includes Chelsea, Leicester and Wrexham among his former clubs, is hopeful he can use him wealth of experience in the game to help turn things around at Llanellian Road.
Speaking to North Wales Weekly News, he said: “Obviously the last month has been very difficult since Jon Newby left. It has been a very unsettling time for the dressing room and that has shown with our results on the field.
“But I know the players here and I would not have taken the job if I didn’t think we could turn things round and get ourselves out of trouble.
“The first job is to get the lads confidence back up and start winning football matches again.
“I have played under some very astute managers in the past like Ruud Gullit and Gianluca Vialli at Chelsea, Martin O’Neill at Leicester and Dean Saunders at Wrexham. I have learnt a few things from them which will hopefully help me.”
The 41-year-old will take training on Thursday night before taking charge of the club for the first time at mid-table Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
