FLOODLIGHT failure put paid to this tight encounter moments after visitors Potters Bar broke the deadlock.
The Scholars had just gone ahead 11 minutes after the half-time interval.
And hosts Brightlingsea were pressing hard for an equaliser when the floodlights went out on their efforts.
Half-an-hour’s work on the faulty electrics failed to shed enough light on the subject and the referee was eventually forced to abandon proceedings.
