■ WHITSTABLE belied their lowly position in the league with a comfortable win at Hythe, who lost their manager Steve Watt during the week.
Hythe keeper, Henry Newcombe, had already made the first of a string of good saves when Luke Illsley opened the scoring with a sharp low shot after good work by Alex Gaggin in the 18th minute.
The killer goal was the second, with Gaggin pouncing after Hythe lost possession to slot home. Danny Walder then added the third, hitting the home side on the break.
