■ DEFENCES were on top as Herne Bay and Burgess Hill Town had to share the points.
A very entertaining first half remained goalless thanks to strong defending from the visitors.
Herne Bay peppered Burgess Hill keeper Taylor Seymour but he saved everything thrown at him.
His best effort came when he somehow turned a Rory Smith thunderbolt over the bar.
Although the home side were on top, a couple of breakaway attacks by Burgess Hill kept Herne Bay’s defenders on their toes.
The second half followed a very similar pattern with both defences remaining resolute...
