■LUKE Hipkin’s 38th-minute free kick secured AFC Sudbury three points at home.
He scored the only goal of a relatively uneventful game when his curling set piece from just outside the area proved too powerful for Barking stopper Eddie Allan.
The second period didn’t produce much in the way of chances either, with the home side failing to add to their tally and the away side unable to muster up a reply.
AFC Sudbury stay third and are just three points off leaders Canvey Island.
