THE two sides took a point apiece after Matt Rhead cancelled out Tommy O’Sullivan’s superb free-kick for the visitors.
Both sides showed glimpses of exciting, high-quality football, but were constantly disrupted by a whistle-happy official.
The game never really got going although it had showed some early promise, both sides hitting the woodwork before the break.
Bobby Johnson’s freekick against the upright from 25 yards for Alfreton bounced to safety before Gloucester’s Daniel Leadbitter also went close.
