THOMAS Wraight’s late winner gave ten-man Hornchurch all three points in a dramatic encounter in which both teams were a man short at the final whistle.
The game took a long time to warm up, however.
Urchins skipper Lewwis Spence opened the scoring on 42 minutes, netting from a yard in a goalmouth scramble that left Wingate keeper Ben Goode on the ground.
Charlie Ruff almost doubled the visitors’ lead on the stroke of half-time, but his shot rebounded off the bar.
