■ THE ROBINS were quick out the blocks as they took on fellow Berkshire side Thatcham at Bottom Meadow.
Dan Bayliss put the home side ahead with just five minutes on the clock. The defender rose highest to power home a header from Max Herbert’s free-kick.
The Kingfishers’ goalkeeper Jack Hopwood kept the lead at just one with a string of fine saves, meanwhile.
Thatcham went in search of an equaliser, but were met with a resolute Robins back four that limited them to only half chances.
