WYTHENSHAWE Town clinched their place in the last eight of the FA Vase for the first time in their history after edging out United Counties side Anstey Nomads in a tense penalty shoot-out.
There was little to choose between the sides in a first half dominated by long balls into each side’s penalty areas.
There were few clear chances from Anstey until Zeyn Hakeem forced an excellent save from Wythenshawe keeper Morgan Bacon.
