THESE two promotion-chasers served up an absorbing game despite the gales lashing off the North Sea.
It was the hosts, looking to complete a double over NPL Premier leaders Matlock Town, who struck first inside seven minutes. A corner was flicked on by on-loan Middlesbrough winger Harry Green for ex-Hartlepool United midfielder Lewis Hawkins to turn home, despite desperate calls for offside.
Hawkins sent a speculative long-range effort wide then overlapping Soni Fergus drilled across the face of goal but failed to find a blue shirt.
