THE battle of the two sides with the best clean sheet records in the league ended in stalemate, Brackley arrived at Haig Avenue with 18 to Southport’s 12 and it was a scrappy an uneventful first period with neither side having a serious threat on goal.
Southport did come close in the 12th minute, when Dylan Vassallo put in a cross that Jordan Archer just failed to get on the end of.
Brackley’s best chance came from a free-kick that was fired straight into the wall by Glen Walker.
