MAIDSTONE extended their lead at the top to seven points with a gritty performance – which saw Chippenham boss Mike Cook depart his role.
A resolute home defence and some impressive keeping from debutant Nykah Liburn-Hines restricted the Stones to a goal in each half and they were indebted to referee Richie Watkins who did not see two late incidents involving Tom Hadler as penalties.
Liburn-Hines tipped over an early drive from Michael Phillips. While a rare home attack saw Jordan Young’s free-kick test Hadler.
