TWO sides fighting for nothing on the final day saw a five-goal thriller at the Horsfall Stadium, as Park Avenue crumbled to a rampant Southport side.
Southport, who had been on a dire run of form, achieved their first victory in 13 games after a frustrating spell which saw their play-off hopes diminished.
The Avenue were the first to threaten in the match, as a teasing cross from Ryan Toulson was headed wide from six yards out by Lewis Knight, who potentially played his last game for the club.
